What is an above-ground bait station?

It’s a discreet, tamper-resistant plastic housing that we fix directly over the live termite lead. Inside is a matrix laced with a slow-acting insect growth regulator (usually chlorfluazuron or hexaflumuron). Foraging termites feed on the bait, carry it back to the nest, and share it colony-wide through trophallaxis — including to the queen.
