Above-Ground Termite Bait Stations Protecting Campbelltown Homes

When live termite workings are found inside a Campbelltown wall cavity, architrave or roof timber, an above-ground bait station is the fastest way to eliminate the colony without opening up the house.

If our inspector has found live termite workings inside your Campbelltown home — in an architrave, skirting board, wall cavity or roof timber — an above-ground bait station (AGB) is usually the fastest, least invasive way to eliminate the colony.

What is an above-ground bait station?

It’s a discreet, tamper-resistant plastic housing that we fix directly over the live termite lead. Inside is a matrix laced with a slow-acting insect growth regulator (usually chlorfluazuron or hexaflumuron). Foraging termites feed on the bait, carry it back to the nest, and share it colony-wide through trophallaxis — including to the queen.

Why we use them across Campbelltown & Macarthur

  • No drilling, no chemical injection into your walls or slab
  • Termites feed voluntarily — no disturbance of the existing workings
  • Colony elimination typically achieved within 8–12 weeks
  • Works even when the location of the parent nest is unknown
  • Ideal for units, townhouses and heritage homes where a full soil treatment isn’t practical

What we do after the colony is eliminated

Colony elimination on its own is not long-term protection. Once the workings are dead, we recommend a full AS 3660 inspection and ongoing protection with either a Termidor HE chemical soil barrier or Sentricon Always Active in-ground stations. See our termite services page for full details.
