The kit we use

We use a FLIR thermal imaging camera paired with a Termatrac T3i radar unit. The FLIR shows temperature anomalies; the T3i uses movement-sensing radar to confirm live termite activity inside the wall. Used together they eliminate almost every false positive.

What thermal imaging can and can’t do

• CAN detect active workings behind plasterboard, tiles and wallpaper
• CAN identify hidden moisture leaks that create termite entry points
• CAN’T see through brickwork, concrete or foil-lined insulation
• CAN’T detect old, dry damage — only active workings
